German exports to foreign countries
In 2013, Germany was third behind China and the USA on the
list of the world’s 20 largest exporting countries. German manu-
facturers of machines, cars, chemical and electronic products,
and optical products traditionally have a strong foothold on the
global market. In 2014, Germany exported goods worth
€ 1,123,746 billion. Exports declined by 18.4% in the calendar
year 2009 due to the global economic crisis, but have increased
steadily since then.
