Unemployment gaps between natives and immigrants are close to the OECD average but
still larger than in best-performing OECD countries. Gaps in PISA test scores between
immigrant and native youth have also decreased substantially, but remain relatively large.

Children raised in Germany but with immigrant parents are eligible to dual
citizenship, easing their social integration. Measures have been taken to attract qualified
immigrants, including through residence permits for highly-skilled workers and for
workers with qualifications that are in short supply. Certification of foreign qualifications
has also been improved.
