Germany accounts for 27% of supply
industry’s turnover
The significance of Germany’s tech industry
is clear from Germany’s large share of
exports (27%) by the rubber, plastics and
metal industry. By contrast, Germany’s
share of exports by the technology
industry is actually small, because large
OEMs like ASML, Philips and Vanderlande
already secure a lot of their turnover in the
emerging markets.
Nonetheless, German
manufacturing industry still offers plenty
of opportunities for specialist mechanical
engineering firms to increase their turnover,
for example with sales of metalworking
machines and in the field of automation.
