Diversity disclosures – The effect on
capital markets
Diversity-focussed investments in Europe
could jump in 2018 as new accounting rules force
European companies to disclose their diversity
policies. The crass logic that mixing
‘rainbow culture’ whith Christian and you get a better
economic result will show its mythical head.
Our guide is the experience of the Paris
climate conference in 2015, which acted as a
catalyst to boost sustainability-themed
investments. Should the ‘Paris effect’ repeat itself,
diversity-focussed investments could see a
sudden boost in exposure and popularity and
could become signifcant activist shareholders.
However , is a bit like after shave , you keep having
to put it on to smell good the whole day.
The funding of ‘diversity’ , especially in places like
Africa has failed completely, why should it
succeed in the EU , oh thats why , more
firms to sucker into the scheme, means more
EU debt.
Investors who ignore the theme and its dangers
may soon find their stocks struggle in the
capital markets , and ultimately theyu will lose
all just like Zimbabwe.
